Clean hands – Healthy Life
Last update 09/27/2024 - 17:58
Since 2009 the World Health Organization has declared the 5th of May the World Hand Hygiene Day. Hand Hygiene is the act of cleaning one’s hands with or without the use of water or another liquid, or with the use of soap, to remove soil, dirt, and microorganisms.
Hand hygiene has been proven to be the single most efficient way in reducing the spread of diseases at home and in the hospital.
According to WHO, every year, hundreds of millions of patients around the world are affected by health care-associated infections which can lead to sepsis and prove fatal. More than half of these infections could be prevented by caregivers and visitors properly cleaning their hands when providing care.
At the Hanoi French Hospital Best Quality Patient Care and Safety is paramount. As much as we encourage our staff to adhere to strict hand hygiene, we would like to take this day to encourage you to take this message to your homes and to spread awareness about the importance and effectiveness of clean hands instead of spreading germs.
It’s in all our hands to improve and maintain good health, let’s celebrate together with clean hands 5 May 2018!
