Special Precautions
Please do not visit if you are suffering from:
- Vomiting, Diarrhoea.
- Coughs, Cold or Flu.
- Any other infectious conditions.
For the ICU, NICU, Isolation zone and Pediatric Ward please ask our staff for advice before visiting if you have had a vaccination two weeks prior to your visit.
- Please wash your hands or use alcohol hand rub provided before and after a visiting.
- Special precautions may be required (mask, cap, gown) if visiting a patient with infectious disease.
Visiting Regulations
- Keep to the allocated visiting hours.
- Limit visit of two people for each patient in double rooms and three in single rooms
- Please use the alcohol hand rub when entering and leaving the patient’s room.
- You may be asked to leave the room at any time if the patient requires medical attention or nursing care and at the discretion of the nurse in charge.
- We encourage patients and their families to be active partners-in-care. Nurses may thus request participation of family members in nursing activities such as feeding during meals, medication and toilet time.
- Do not sit on the bed or touch wounds, drips, drains, or patient’s notes, or leave personal belongings on the patient’s bed.
- If visiting a patient hospitalized in an isolation room, special recommendations displayed at the room door must be adhered to. Please ask the nursing staff before you enter an isolation room.
- No pets are allowed on the hospital premises.
- Smoking is strictly forbidden in the hospital except in the designated outdoor area at our H-Cafe.
- Visitors are permitted to bring washed fruit and soft drinks for patients, no other food or drink is permitted.
- Items with strong aromas such as Durian are not permitted on the hospital premises. Please allow the nurse in charge to check all food items before giving to the patient.
- Please switch off your mobile phone or set it to “silent” or “vibrate” mode and speak quietly whilst inside the hospital for respect to other patients.
- No potted plants or cut flowers are allowed in the hospital.
- Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult – children should only visit close relatives.
- Small children and infants should not visit patients.
- Visitors cannot stay overnight in double rooms.
- Upon request by a patient staying in a single room, and provided that there is room availability and no medical reason to refuse, one visitor can be permitted to stay overnight for an additional charge.
- HFH assumes no responsibility for any lost or misplaced items by visitor.
- Visitors are requested to treat staff with respect and politeness and follow instructions of doctors and nursing staff.
