"HOW TO CHERISH THE FIRST MOMENTS OF TAKING CARE OF YOUR NEWBORNS"

On March 18^th, 2023 Hanoi French Hospital (HFH), launched the first of its new series of "Petit Rayon de Soleil" talk-shows to start off the Cat Year 2023. The topic of discussion was of great interests of young parents "How to cherish the first moments of taking care of your newborns".

On March 18^th, 2023 Hanoi French Hospital (HFH), launched the first of its new series of "Petit Rayon de Soleil" talk-shows to start off the Cat Year 2023. The topic of discussion was of great interests of young parents "How to cherish the first moments of taking care of your newborns".

With the topic "How to cherish the first moments of taking care of your newborns", this month's talk-show provided young parents with the knowledge and insights from HFH’s most experienced midwives on the first important care for the newborns. Parents learned the benefits of the optimal methods of taking care the newborns which are currently applied at HFH such as: assessing the overall health of the newborn through the Apgar index, cutting the umbilical cord slowly, skin-to-skin with mom and dad, to name just a few.

The essential care for the newborn at HFH has been shared by the midwives and received significant attention from parents attending the Talk-show, specifically: instructing mothers to breastfeed early after birth and in the appropriate way, how to maintain the breast milk supply, the sleep and meals schedule for mothers to increase the breast milk supply, how to preserve breast milk, how to take care of the baby at home, special monitoring of the baby's health by HFH’s Pediatricians and nurses even after discharge...

Not only providing necessary knowledge for parents, HFH midwives also shared with young parents the feelings of delivery expectation, nervousness, happiness mixed with anxiety at the moment of waiting for their babies to be born. For HFH medical team, taking care of Mother and Baby is not only the responsibility, but also the joy and the reward to accompany Mom and Dad in the journey of welcoming the baby as family members.

With different topic for each event, serial Talk-show “Petit Rayon de Soleil” is held regularly at HFH to bring parents useful knowledge around Motherhood and Baby Care in the cozy and friendly context like among family members and friends. The Talk-show will provide information, answer questions of parents, accompany parents and babies through all the time until they are born. Especially, the talk show is for interested parents to register free of charge.
