Hanoi French Hospital (HFH) conducted a fire drill on October 26 to raise awareness and response capacity in case of fire. Through this, the hospital is committed to always ensuring the safety of patients and staff, protecting the health and lives of everyone in the medical facility.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, Dong Da District Police mobilized 3 fire trucks, 1 ladder truck and 1 command vehicle to the drill.
According to the hypothetical situation, at 2:10 p.m. on October 26, a fire broke out on the 6th floor of the hospital where a number of patients were being treated.
As soon as the fire alarm was received, the Security Team and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team were immediately dispatched to organize the initial firefighting efforts. Many nurses and hospital staff saw the fire and rushed to rescue the injured patient trapped on the 6th floor.
The professional fire fighting force and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of the facility carried and brought the victim to a safe area on the 1st floor. At the same time, they used a ladder truck to search for victims on the rooftop and organize firefighting.
The hospital staff coordinated effectively, bringing the hypothetical "victims" down to the 1st floor safely. The hypothetical fire was quickly controlled and extinguished.
This drill helped improve the hospital's emergency response skills, ensuring the highest safety for patients and staff in case of a fire. It also tested the effectiveness of fire prevention and fighting procedures and equipment.
Mr. Pham Van Hung, Head of the Security Team of HFH, said that in addition to coordinating activities with the Dong Da District Police, the hospital regularly organizes internal training sessions for all staff on fire safety. The fire protection system and equipment in the hospital are regularly inspected to ensure that they are always in the best working condition.
For many consecutive years, HFH has been awarded certificate of merit by the Hanoi City Police as a typical advanced unit in fire prevention and fighting.
Since its establishment in 1997, Hanoi French Hospital has been the leading Western standard hospital in Hanoi and Northern Vietnam. The hospital underwent renovation in 2022, now featuring 170 licensed beds and modern buildings equipped with the latest technology.
