Ophthalmology is the medical specialty for treating local affections as well as those caused by general disorders such as metabolic, cardiovascular, immune, neurological and oncological diseases.

In addition, it cures the affections of eyes and annexes like orbit, muscles and eyelids. Also, it resorts to the optical science of:

• Study of ocular refraction and diagnosis of vision impairments;
