Health Check In HFH

An annual check-up gives you a general overview on your health. It includes a number of clinical examinations, blood tests and imagery diagnostic that help detect diseases and stay healthy. Here are some tips for selecting the most appropriate Check-up Packages to meet your needs

1. Choose the right health check program

At L’Hôpital Français de Hanoi, three standard individual health check packages are recommended following age range, from 17 to over 50 years old. Options are also available for male or female.

These standard packages are recommended for certain age range at fix prices. Additional tests or specialized consultations proposed apart from the Health Check Package will be charged separately.

2. Choose your desired package and take an appointment

To arrange an appointment, please call to our Reservation Department and specify your program choice

3. Your check-up session

Firstly, inform our receptionists at the main reception desk on the ground floor of your presence upon appointment. You will be asked to fill in a form if you are attending L’Hôpital Français de Hanoi for the first time.

You will be required to settle the invoice at the cashier desk, opposite to the reception. The payment may be done either in cash, travelers’ checks and/ or credit cards (Visa, Master, Amex cards). Vietnamese Dong or US Dollars are accepted.

Our staff will then guide you along the program:

  • At the General Medicine room, our GP doctor will give you general examination and discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding your health.
  • The nurse will measure your weight and height, calculate your body mass index, check your vision and perform any other routine examination (ECG if any) at the Health Check room, on the first floor.
  • Chest X-ray and other imaging examinations (abdominal ultrasound, pelvic ultrasound, breast ultrasound and mammography, if any) are performed at the Imaging Department on the same floor.
  • At the laboratory station, the nurse will take a blood sample for testing. You’ll also receive a sterile container for urine sample or/and stool if required.
  • When you’re done with these examinations, please return to the reception desk to ensure that you have been through all the required steps and receive the medical images.
  • You will then be given an appointment with our general medicine doctor for medical examination, presentation of the tests results and medical advises.

4. Notifications

  • Check-up time may vary from one hour and a half to four hours, depending on the programs.
  • Please be informed that blood sample examinations require that you be fasting, do not eat or drink soft drinks, juices, milk, alcohol, coffee, tea for the last 12 hours. See Preparation for Check up
  • Remember to bring medical images along with you for the medical consultation.

  • The above prices will be reviewed periodically.
  • Each package includes 01 consultation with GP doctor for presenting test results. If additional tests or specialized consultations are required, they will be proposed apart from the Health Check Package and will be charged separately. These packages are recommended for certain age range but may be adapted according to patient’s health condition and/ or doctor’s advise.

Preparation

1. Before Blood Test

  • Blood tests: Fasting, do not eat or drink soft drinks, juices, milk, alcohol, coffee, tea within 12 hours before blood test. The best time for taking blood sample is in the morning.
  • Urine test: Cleansing genital area carefully with tap water, passing some urine and collecting middle stream urine into sterilized sample container and send it to laboratory station.
  • Stool test: Collect stool sample including mucus, blood, loose stools.
  • PAP Smear test: For early cervical cancer detection. This test is only for sexually active women but not performed when:
    • Menstruation period
    • Vaginal bleeding
    • Obvious inflammation of cervix
    • On treatment for infection with vaginal tablets. PAP Smear will be postponed until after the next menstruation
    • Pregnancy
    • No sexual activity yet.

— -> The best day for performing this test is on the 15th day after the first day of menstruation or 7 -10 days after the last day of the period

2. Radiology and ultrasound:

  • Do not have X- ray if pregnant or pregnancy suspected.
  • Pelvic Ultrasound: It is necessary to have a full bladder (feeling like passing urine) to facilitate ultrasound examination.
  • Mammography: It is recommended that mammography should be done 4 days after the end of period for reducing discomfort during investigation.
  • Abdomen ultrasound: More comfortable if bowel empty
