Overview

Gastro-Enterology treats diseases and functional disorders of digestive tract and organs. The gastro-enterologist is often consulted by patients of all ages. He is at the crossroads of multiple specialties.

A variety of general diseases have digestive origins.

The clinician utilizes three main diagnostic tools:

1. Endoscopy
2. Imaging (ultrasound and X-ray scanner)
3. Biology

Most of the time, these investigations can be performed as out-patients or in day care.
